Hypnosis - how to use hypnosis
tapes?
Who can use and benefit from
them?
Who can use hypnosis tapes?
If you have no intellectual
cognitive deficits and have not had a serious head injury involving
brain damage or some other organic brain disease then you can
use most hypnosis tapes safely.
Generally good reasoning develops after 15 or 16 years of age,
so you benefit best when you're older than 15 years of age.
Hypnosis tapes - how do
they work?
Hypnosis tapes teach you how
to relax physically and mentally, when we are more relaxed, we
are more open to suggestion, new ideas, thoughts and feelings
can be encouraged which help us to make both specific and generalised
changes. If you keep finding yourself stuck, and doing the same
old things and having the same old feelings then you will probably
benefit from a good hypnosis tape.
If you have a very analytical
mind, and have found in the past that hypnosis tapes haven't
helped much then our HPP series of hypnosis tapes and CD`s may
help you. Lloyd Glauberman uses a metaphorical story telling
and Ericsonian approach to trance, which engages our inner fantasy
world, and our ability to respond appropriately, much better
than hypnosis tapes which use mostly use direct suggestion.
How to use them
Its no good buying any hypnosis
tape if you don`t play it regularly!
It sounds so obvious, but its
true. I don't know how many times I have to repeat this to customers
who have used hypnosis tapes in the past, but have not felt great
benefit. On further questioning, it turns out they have played
their tape perhaps once or twice the first week, and maybe once
a week from then on. Sometimes I've heard; as little as once
every ten days. This just doesn't work doing it this way. Unless
you only want to change by the time your in your eighties.
In the beginning
In the early stages for the
first 2 or 3 weeks you need to set aside 30 to 40 minutes every
day to play one side of your tape. Our double tape series have
four separate sides. When you've heard them all, you can play
them daily in sequence or simply play the one which most appeals
on that day. Playing them all regularly will help you experience
and make the most changes.
Playing too many tapes
As a guide, work on one or
two issues at a time. Playing 3 or 4 different tape programs,
at the same time, which are attempting to work on different issues,
seems to confound and overload the inner workings of the mind.
With the result you can give yourself inner indigestion, metaphorically
speaking. Not giving enough time for the issues you're working
on to resolve. This needs to happen first before you move on
to another area of change.
When can I expect changes?
Not straight away. Usually
it takes a week or two before the unconscious mind gets the idea.
It's not the conscious mind which needs to change. After between
three and four weeks you can expect to experience changes in
your thinking patterns, feelings, behaviours, ideas and even
in some cases, powerful changes in your beliefs. These will all
fit into the new you in a naturalistic way.
If you're not feeling different
immediately, give it time. The more you are in a hurry to experience
change, often the more the mind will resist. So be easy on yourself,
and the changes will come. "What you resist, persists".
